Beach House Remodel: Living Room

For the final stop on our beach house remodel home tour, I present to you, the living room! It turned into such a fun little space. Definitely perfect for both entertaining and relaxing.

So here's the requisite Before Pic - as you can see, a bit dated, bland and dark. It feels more like a doctor's office waiting room than an essential part of a home!

We wanted to incorporate some of the same beachy goodness that you've seen throughout the house, so we opted for bright white walls that would showcase the furnishings and decorative elements. A surfboard serves as the statement art piece over the sofa; it's a vintage board we found in SoCal.

We added texture in the room by layering different materials, like leather, wool, wood, brass and tweed.

And, in my opinion, no living room is ever complete without a bar cart, so we added this brass beauty - it pulls double duty as a bar cart on top and a place to store electronics on the bottom. Doesn't get much better than that folks!

We did keep the black slate wall from the original design. To be honest, at first we weren't big fans of the slate, but I think in the end it works really well. We added a custom, alder mantel over the fireplace and topped it with some succulents and the most relaxing beach art ever! You can also see the entry light from this vantage point...isn't it cute?!

Hope you've enjoyed seeing this project as much as we enjoyed pulling it together. It's a great example of our Wholeshebang service!
